do we have temp folder in linux
in windows everyday we clean temp because some viruse live there and it is important
so we have temp in linux if we have must clean and empty it every day

If you look at the root structure of your drive, you'll find /tmp which is the /temp directory that you speak of. However, unless you do something really silly like log in as root all the time, viruses cannot be written to that area. Virus issues aren't as troublesome in Linux as they are in the WIndows world.

- 04-19-2005 #3not so troublesome because there's so (relatively) few of them. Though you cannot be infected by a windows virus in linux, you CAN transmit it on to other computers. So if u have a server that serves windows computers would bew worth having clamav to scan for virii
