I just built a whole system from scratch and decided to try out linux. Unfortunately i forgot to buy a modem! i'm pretty low on cash and can't afford one right now, so i was wondering if i could install linux ubuntu now and when i finally get my modem can i actually install the modem without having to re-install ubuntu?
thanks for the help. Sorry i'm a newb
if i can will i need to follow a special type of procedure or will it just automatically detect and install?

What type of modem are you looking to buy? I'd suggest an external from U.S Robotics.

You won't need to reinstall Ubuntu for this to work.
