Bold style of font disappeared after an apt-get upgrade

    Hi all,

I use Munjoy Linux, which is an easy-to-install Debian-based distribution. Three new fonts (Helveticer, Vestal Sans and Vestal Serif) come with the distro, and Vestal Sans is the default font. Out of the box, everything works great.

The problem is that after I did an apt-get update and upgrade to the latest stable version of Debian (which no doubt included some upgraded font-related packages) and restarted my computer, Vestal Sans no longer has a bold style. The bold and bold-oblique styles for the other two fonts that I mentioned still work, but Vestal Sans's doesn't. Instead it uses the normal and oblique styles where the bold and bold-oblique styles should be. I tried re-installing the bold and bold-oblique truetype fonts in KDE's font installer, but that didn't work. I also checked the /usr/share/fonts/munjoy folder where the fonts all are, and all the styles for Vestal Sans and the other two fonts are there. Why isn't the bold and bold-italic style for Vestal Sans showing?

Is there any way I can fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

Never mind, I managed to figure it out.

I had to delete and reinstall the font as root.
