Kubuntu - Everything installed great, But.....

Hi all, Just tried an install of Kubuntu on my B&W G3 PPC, and everything worked great, EXCEPT I forgot to fine tune my ATI pci Video actually it was the settings for my Dell P780 monitor) upon my First boot. On my second boot, I received an error message from my monitor saying that resolution wasn't supported at that frequency, and then my screen went {and Stayed} black (text & graphics mode). Does anyone know how I fix this (it has to happen Before the end of the boot process). I tried a boot prompt of 'video=atyradeon64fb:vmode6' but to no avail. Any other ideas??? I wish to get to just a prompt so I can reconfigure X and use the correct settings for my Monitor and Graphics card. Thanks All, Tim...

Have you tried control-alt-F2 when the screen goes blank? Or it may be control-alt-F1. One of these gets you to the command-line.

Yes, and it's option+F3, and option+F1 to get back on my PPC. Hey, thanks for the Supersonic reply, Tim...

Sorry, my fault with newer Radeon PCI

Hi all, I now know this is a fault with my newly upgraded PCI Radeon 7000 (64mb) card. It isn't a Generic Macintosh card but instead from a PC [took me awhile to hunt for drivers for my Mac]. Just went into YDL, and now I'm running without X server there. Though It did upgrade just fine in NetBSD (I'm running 1152x864 with millions of colors). Guess when I have more time, I'll download the newest from X.org and try that out on my Linux OS's.

P.S. - I just got rid of Ubuntu alltogether (I just Prefer the RedHat type of Linux that I get with YDL); gives me more storage for my NetBSD appls.
