Apple Talk
Hello all, I have used up all my cards, and finally give up and ask for help. I just purchased a new powerbook running mac os/x and added it to my lan. I have a Debian machine (which I use as my server), a Windows XP desktop, Windows XP notebook and a PowerBook all connected to the same network.
All my machines communicate flawlessly via SAMBA, but for whatever reason I cannot get my powerbook to do the same. After reading up on it for a little bit, I decided to explore the better option, which is use AppleTalk to connect my PowerBook to the Linux server ( SAMBA works fine with the WindowsXP <-> MacOS, but not MacOS <-> Linux -- go figure ).
I followed the only tutorial I found on installing and configuring NETATALK and it seems to work, except when I try to connect I get an error that the username/password was not correct or login was disabled.
I looked at the log files and the only thing I was able to find was this at syslog :
My netatalk.log file is empty. I don't know what else to try or where else to look but to look for help here.Code:Jul 22 13:23:21 localhost afpd[3338]: ASIP session:548(5) from 192.168.0.100:49587(8) Jul 22 13:23:21 localhost afpd[3338]: cleartext login: rcracel Jul 22 13:23:22 localhost afpd[3338]: 0.09KB read, 0.05KB written Jul 22 13:23:22 localhost afpd[3277]: server_child[1] 3338 done
