    Networking problem

Just installed Debian Sarge 3.1 no problems except that I cannot see my MS network when logged on with KDE desktop - If I change to Gnome I can, any ideas why as I much prefer KDE (sorry probably because I am more used to windows).

First of all what you need is this.

    Get Samba and install it.

configure samba with the appropiate options "/etc/samba/smb.conf"

Like the workgroup and everything else or try the documentation on samba.org

    Run samba "/etc/init.d/samba start"
Computers Are Like Air Conditioners... They\'re both useless with Windows open!

Sorry for the late response have been away - samba is installed - Gnome can network with no problems - when in KDE I get samba client is not installed prompt - but it is - I have reinstalled it several times and have also installed from the net incase of file corruption on DVD. I'm still none the wiser
