    Gnome resolution different than kde

This is a weird problem although both resolutions in gnome and kde are the same at 1152 x 864. The gnome desktop is geriatrically big(icons, windows, etc.) whereas the kde is what it should be, small. I used to have FC4 installed and everything was normal there. It only seems to exist in Debian. What is going on?

i know what you mean... it's gnome, the icons are huge... to fix this, I went to System->Preferences->File Management

in there, change the default zoom level from 100% to 75% or 50%. the icons should be a lot smaller...

    hope it helps...
