    KDE -> Ksnapshot
    Gnome -> desktop -> print screen
    Others -> install ImageMagick and run import -window root screenshot.png

    You can easily configure the printscreen button to work in KDE by using KHotKeys in the KDE Control Centre. Some Distros have it set up by default, like Mandriva.

    So I did 'ksnapshot' and saved the file 'snapshot1.pngZMN5pb.new' to my desktop. Now I can't open it or delete it. My computer is saying that it does not exist.

    Never mind, I logged off and logged back on, now I could delete it.
