try installing CUPS.........it supports your printer

    so after installing CUPS
    .........settings
    .............printing manager
    .....................choose CUPS as print system
    .............................add new printer
    ....................................go through the wizard

yeah it is the only one on the network or directly hooked to the computer.

i cant explain why it doesnt work but my friend said he had the same trouble when he tryed to print on a network printer and he never got that fixed before the end of the semester he was able to use linux.

then it goes into gibberish and it prints like 5 pages of it

    Try changing program

    Hi,
I had the same problem when trying to print from gimp. Swapped over to another program (kview? can't remember) and it printed okay on old Epson SC 440. Might work for you too.
    Regards
