Where's GDM?
Something seems to be wrong (again) with my Ubuntu installation. I just installed Fedora Core 3 and added the Ubuntu entry to the GRUB menu exactly right. But when I boot up, I get a few errors which scroll past too fast to see and then I'm presented with a commandline BASH promp and the graphical login prompt doesn't display unless I type "gdm" to run it.
What's wrong with my installation and how do I correct it?

Re: Where's GDM?
Examine your /var/log/boot.msg file to see all messages during boot, so that you could clarify your problem more specifically.

try to symlink the gdm binary into /etc/rc2.d, assuming you default to runlevel 2 like debian does by default.
