    Guide for loading Ubuntu ?

I have finally got a 10g partition ready for Ubuntu (after much wrangling). This will (hopefully) be a triple boot with XP Pro & SuSE 9.2.

I have tried to load the Ubuntu - but get stuck - making the wrong choices, and ending up going to the prior screen. It is much more confusing than SuSE.

I still want to try it. Is there a guide I can go to to get this loaded?

    Thanks

These instructions are for Warty (the last release), but they should work for Hoary (the current release), too:

Here is the Official Ubuntu Installation Guide.
This is what I would use as it is a more complete manual.

    Thanks

Now why could I not find that. I feel like a lazy dummy!

Now that I have finished flogging myself ....I will get to work and load me an OS.

One asked where I was getting stuck. Trust me - some of the steps seemed like they had not been translated from whatever language - to English. I am sure that the instructions I printed will clear my foggy head.

Aysiu - I like the instructions that you sent me to - but they do not match.

Right now I get to the page below. This is after I choose the partition I wish to load ubuntu to.

    Partition settings

    use as: do not use
Bootable flag off (I selected this and it went to on)

    Done setting up the partition
    Copy data from another partition
    Delete the partition

What I want is a simple statement like - install here. HELP!!

You will have to know what device the partition is that you want to install Ubuntu on to. This is the partition that you will have to format during the install. Just look for the partition that you set to 10g and set that to be your root partition (use as: ). I believe your swap from Suse will be auto detected and used accordingly.

    The page ..

The page that I referred to is what comes up after I choose the partition that I would install to. I am thinking that I do not understand.

I am pretty sure the intended partition is formatted already. I thought that all I should do then was load Ubuntu to that device/drive/partition.

Look at this Visual Installation Guide.
Can you find where you are getting stuck?
