    Apt-get help

    Hi,
    I'm currently using Ubuntu 5.04 as my distro and can't seem to find apt repositories for mediaplayers and codecs
    I'm also looking for other repositories for various apps as well
    Any help will be greatly appreciated

    Just to add that for finding good repositories for apt, you can use the program apt-spy, which (after quite a while) checks the speed of all servers in a certain area (europe, the US...) and writes the fastest to your sources.list file.

    I don't know, I got it from a debian server. Try
    Code:
    apt-get install apt-spy
    I used it in Kanotix, which is pretty much debian. I don't know how compatible Ubuntu is with debian, but I think it should work.

    I wouldn't recommend using non-Ubuntu repositories in Ubuntu, but you can enable more Ubuntu repositories by following these instructions:
