When you installed it did it ask for a username and password? it would most definatly ask for root password or if not, it's a stuffed up install, if you can't remember what you typed turn on computer and when it comes to grub choose "debian kernel 1.0blah (recovery mode)" or whatever, when it loads it will be like

    Code:
    username@host$~:
    or something, now type this

    Code:
    passwd root
this will then ask you for a new password, enter one and type "exit" log in as "root" and the password you typed, then add a new user by typing

    Code:
    adduser username
i'm pretty sure that's right. if it's not try add user, witha space, then log in as the new user, if that doesn't work, post the errors here

Edit: If it asks for a second cd just go "No" press tab to get to it, if there is one

Please! Explain me what you did to see the OS

I purchased the same magazine with the very same installation. Could you please tell me in the most detailed manner how did you manage to make it run. I would love to migrate to Debian and to use it on a daily basis.

    Kind regards,

PS What do you mean by didn't press spacebar?

I am not a MAC user btw...

To install Debian, just boot with the cd/dvd and follow the prompts.
As for the pressing the spacebar.
During the install, you will have a chance to select which packages to install, pressing the spacebar selects packages that are highlighted.
