Display Question
Gnome will only let me go to 800x600 resolution, so everything in sarge looks like **** (good operating system though). And Gnome has always given me this problem, I don't know why exactly. So anyway, is there anything I can do about this? I'd really really love the whole distro if I could get to a higher resolution and a higher refresh rate. It's really annoying.
But otherwise I'm really impressed with Sarge. It was just as easy to install as Xandros (though the installer didn't have pretty colors galore) so I guess they've killed the myth of the impossible to use installer
Also, I'd like to know how to get my ppp connection up-and-running

You need to edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4. At the very bottom, there's a section called "Screen" and that's where you can specify the resolution you want. Just follow the format that is already there and you shouldn't have any problems.

Poke around Google a little bit. Let us know if you have further questions.

Doing a google search for the Horizontal Sync & Vertical Refresh values of your monitor then putting these values into Section "Monitor" of your XF86config-4 may also help out.
I always make a XF86Config-4.bak just in case
