I am running "Xandros Desktop Linux 3.01 Open Circulation Editon"

I can easily create an internet connection however I can't use it.

I go to the control center set it all up correctly [ i use pppoe adsl] when i click properties and select "start this connection on user login" [or something like that ] and hit ok it comes back with an error saying i must activate my connection manually. My hardware is detected [properly to my knowledge].

I am a complete noob to linux and was told that this distro was the best for those migrating from xp pro. Please help to the best of your knowledge, I'm aching on dumping this shoddy OS by microsoft!
