    Yes, you can install DSL to the hdd.
    Right-click on the desktop, and look through the menus, you will see the option to install.

    Don't just jump right in. You need to make a swap partition and a root partition first. Ask us if you need help with this.

    The DSL installer is like most other installers and will have prompts for setting up /root and swap.

    You have to make them manually before you start installing. Otherwise it just spits back an error message.

    I just did a DSL install on a spare hard drive yesterday and I was prompted to make a /root and a swap.
    I am not sure about older versions of DSL. But the latest 1.5 works just fine for installation with partitioning prompts.

    well, get 1.5, it's only 50mb

    50 mb is a standard for DSL.
    Some might be 48 mb, but thay run real close to 50 mb.
