    What's with the Ubuntu version titles?

    Why does Ubuntu use names like Hoary and Warty? I don't want to use it now, the name sounds like some horrible disease that results in loss of fingers or something...

    Well, the next release is in a month, and it's called Breezy Badger. I don't know if that's more to your tastes...

    I wonder what somebody would say if I walked up to them in public and said "I have Ubuntu Hoary.". They'd probably run away. Really. This is bad for publicity.

    I justed noticed it is mammalian alliteration naming.

    I think it is just to make it more memorable. People have enough problems with xp pro and home, let alone Ubuntu 4.05, kernel blah, blah, blah.....

    Nah, Debian Etch sounds like some document editing program. Now, LaTeX just reminds me of condoms. In fact I can remember in high school that "latex" was locker-room slang for condom. I wonder what reaction I'd get these days after saying "I have latex!".
