    hey im new to this Linux deal. I have a question. At debians website, there is a list of the processor architectures that support debian, but I dont see mine, which is a AMD k6-2. Im not sure if that is a type on the list.

    another question

    do i need 16 cds to install!?!?!

    does each iso require a cd to run?

    No, you won't need them all. In fact, if you have a fast internet connection, it's best to simply do a "netinstall". I usually use the "businesscard.iso", as it's just the system base, and then you get all the other goodies online.

    You'll need to know a little about your hardware, and then what other software you want to install after the base is setup, so you should give all that some thought before trying to install.

    The last 7 disks are mostly source code for the software on the first 7. I think the disks are structured so that most people can get by with the first two and using the net for the rest, but if you have a decent connection, a net install is the way to go.
