Can't get surround sound to work :(

    Hi,
I currently use an MSI KT3 Ultra2's onboard sound (VIA VT8235 Southbridge, Realtek ALC650 Codec). The front channels work fine, but the rear, center and LFE channels don't. I've set the volumes correctly for all channels with kmix (KDE replacement for alsamixer), but it just doesn't work.
I'm running Kubuntu Linux 5.04 (kernel 2.6.10-5-k7, ALSA 1.0.. If you need more information, just ask
    Thanks in advance

I haven't really had the best experiance on Linux with onboard sound. Try buying an actual sound card. When you do, though, make sure it says directly that it supports Linux.

That would be no solution, that would be a workaround

I've done that. Anyway, that chip should be supported since ages.

    Thanks for answering anyway
