Hi,
All the 'small' linux i see gobble upto 1GB hdd space.
Is there any linux which takes say only 500 to 700 MB space? I think win98 + OOO ...

All the 'small' linux i see gobble upto 1GB hdd space.
Is there any linux which takes say only 500 to 700 MB space? I think win98 + OOO + few other apps take upto 800 MB.

Small footprint
Try Puppy Linux - it's different to most distro's in the way it installs [just take your time and read the help text] but it's really small and because it loads completely into memory it's really fast.

There are quite a few super-slim distros. OO.org will require an additional 200-300 MB apparently...

Puppy Linux: My reccomendation. 100MB in size, with seamonkey web browser, Abiword, multimedia player,image editing, dvd burning, etc.. Very good hardware detection. It also has countless custom respins, for example MacPup that in 171MB packs GIMP, Opera 9.6 and is much better looking thanks to Enlightment desktop and pre-installed widgets.
Damn Small Linux as mentioned above.
