net card config
I'm having trouble configuring my network card in Debian 3.1. It's an onboard lan card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813152052). It's not listed in the list of network cards during installation. I've tried loading the drivers off a floppy, but then it didn't recognize the floppy drive. Anyone have any suggestions?

Go to Menu>System>Networking and click on "Add" and see if your card is listed.

I haven't been able to install a window manager yet. I didn't want to download all 14 cd's.

Is the card recognized if you use a livecd such as knoppix?
If it does work with a livecd you can do "lsmod" to find out which modules are loaded and you will be able to see which one is used by your network card.
If you don't understand the output of lsmod, just put it in here and somebody will help you with it.How to know if you are a geek.

No, the card isn't recognized with knoppix, but it is recognized with slax. I will try lsmod and see what happens. Thanks for the reply
