Can anyone link to me to a tutorial for installing a Debian ISO from an ntfs partition?...I dont have any blank cd,s ti copy the iso to0 Thanks...

    Can anyone link to me to a tutorial for installing a Debian ISO from an ntfs partition?...I dont have any blank cd,s ti copy the iso to0

    I don't think you can do it from an NTFS partition. Linux can't read them. It can, however, read from FAT32 drives, though.

    Can you explain that better? From what I understood, you want to install Debian from an ISO without burning it. As far as I know, you can't do that. You need to at least boot from a base system to get an install going, which you would need to burn to CD.

    Is there no way to boot from a floppy and read the iso from ntfs partition and start the install from there.

    we have the same concern, but mine, though, is in FAT partition, an Ubuntu ISO..

    that doc does contain the answer to both your problems. it lists a number of ways to install the OS without having it on a CD.

    you will needot mount he iso so you can copy files from it to the drive you wish to install to, or setup a ftp server to the mounted drive image..

    but it's all in that doc you posted the link to.

    I think theres a program called virtual cd or something where you can run ISO's like there a cd without them actually being on a cd, but i dont know how to find it or even if thats the right name
