    Kernel 2.6.13

    I'm just wondering if anyone else has had problems with kernel 2.6.13. I haven't been able to boot it. I've compiled my own three times and even tried the pre-compiled one, but it seems to be having difficulties mounting my HDDs. The ones I've compiled have all gotten as far as mounting the root file system (which is EXT3 onl my machine) and crashed because it can't. The pre-compiled image didn't even get that far before it crashed with a CRC error.

    I'm using the 2.6.13.1 kernel on one of my SuSE machines.

    Did you remember to build ext2 and ext3 support in your kernel?

    Could you dump your .conf file between code tags (see the options above the submit box)

    What are you using as a boot-loader ?

    How did you go about the compile... eg;

    Sounds like a simple config problem, whats the sound card.

    You'll find the 2.6 series just so much faster/responsive/smoother than the 2.4, and with greater hw support as well.

    I'm using a 2.6.12 vanilla kernel with the Con Kolivas "-ck3" patch.

    It runs really well.
