    Rescuing Debian

Hi, i am currently using Debian Testing (Etch), Windows XP and Windows 98 on the same hard drive, the problem is that i have to reinstall Windows from time to time and it overwrites GRUB form the MBR. My problem is that i don't know how to use the debian 3.1 netinst disc to restore GRUB in the MRB. My salvation is the debian 3.0 rescue disc that works fine but i don't like to rely on an old version of a program to do my job. If anyone can help to make me understand how to use the 3.1 netinst disc to rescue my system or at least to tell me how to make my own rescue disc please do it, Thank you very much.

If your wanting to re-install GRUB read this tutorial by Nerderello: TUTORIAL

You might want to think of makeing a GRUB boot diskette, as Flatline says in this THREAD

Thanks a lot, what Flatline said in that Thread was indeed very helpfull, I never imaged that making a grub floopy was such a piece of cake. I don't have to worry about losing that old debian 3.0 rescue disc anymore.
