sound doesnt work in ubuntu 5.10 in kde.

    Hi,

The sound doesnt work in 5.10 in kde. If I use gnome, the sound works.

Please check the bug that I have raised at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114980

Is there a simple way to make all the players use arts?

Also I didnt understand the points that the dev said.

Can anyone explain that to me?

    Thanks,
    ~A.

    Sound daemon

probably is your sound daemon arts.

arts is a daemon wich take control over the sourdcard. KDE uses it to sound events...

A program must provide support to arts. WIthout support, you can stop arts and everything will go well...

Ok. So disabling the arts deamon would do the trick, right?

I wonder why should the kde cause such a huge functional regressions.

Regressions DONT go well with the users.

If you are using Ubuntu with KDE, why not get Kubuntu? It would be much easier to setup.
