    how do i go about upgrading my 5.04 version of ubuntu to the latest version (5.10?)

    Change your Hoary sources to Breezy and apt-get dist-upgrade.

    Can't believe I forgot that. Definetly do that after changing your sources or you won't be upgrading to Breezy (5.10).

    i wouldn't recomend upgrading hoary to breezy. i tried doing that and it completely killed my X. just download the breezy iso and install it. works much better and is easier (imo).

    Don't listen to this guy, most often you're fine using apt-get dist-upgrade.

    That's how I updated my 5.04 version of Ubuntu.
