    Sorry, you can't change Nautilus icons without changing Gnome icons! We wish we could do that, but you are stuck with this idea.

    What are you talking about? Of course you can.
    You just need to use a supported application theme.

    For example, the SmoothStreak theme will change the toolbar icons very nicely.
    There are other themes which behave similarly.
    It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
