    how to hide a running process

    hi all

    i'm new to linux.
    i'm using mepis KDE Linux.
    i want to hide a process. that is, i dont want to show the icon of that process from desktop( in system tray). but i don't know how to hide a process which is currently running.
    anybody can help me on this

    What you're really asking is how to hide the tray icon while an app is running, right? That's different than hiding a process.

    yah exactly
    the application which i want to hide is KMail client.
    but i also want to know the techniue behind this
    and how to generally hide an application
