    http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.p...41ebcf778#1347

    when i try to do this
    Just go to your /usr/src/<linux kernel source for 2.6.8> directory and do "cat bootsplash-3.1.6-2.6.8.diff > patch -p0" or it might be p1
    I get a "Bootsplash module not found"

    can someone help me out here please?

    Well, are you in fact using that kernel version?
    What is the output of this command:

    $ uname -r

    Also, paste the exact command you issued which caused the error you mentioned, and provide the output that it produced. Basically, just copy/paste what happened during that terminal session.
    It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
