No GUI after Debian Net Install
After I installed Debian and restarted I didn't get a GUI. I tried all of the virtural terminals and no GUI appears. How do I load a GUI on to my system? Is there one and I'm just being stupid?

The net-installer lets you pick what desktop environment software to install on your system as you go along. Since you have not decided to post what you chose it is very difficult to offer any specific assistance. Please be more detailed with your questions in the future.
Based on what you did provide I would suggest making sure you have X installed and then either kde, gnome, fluxbox or similar.
From the command line after boot:
# apt-get install x-window-system gdm gnomeIt may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I had that problem, it took me an hour to figure out that you have to press space to select what enviourment you want. Instead I just selected desktop and pressed enter, it took me 5 try's but then I finally figured it out.

To get KDE it's the same thing, except you get "kdm" instead of "gdm" and "kde" instead of "gnome". I would also suggest getting x-window-system-core instead of x-window-system.
As for getting GUI, you don't get an option, you would need to reboot the system or give the command: # /etc/init.d/kdm start or # /etc/init.d/gdm start."Today you are freer than ever to do what you want, provided you can pay for it!" --Bad Religion
