    Problems with the Mouse

After corrupting my hard drive I decided "Screw It, I'll put Ubuntu on." So I got Ubuntu and after doing so, my mouse will jump up and to the right. I don't know any other way to explain it but as I change the sensitivity for the mouse, it jumps either more or less (Depending if the sensitivity is higher or lower). The mouse has never done this before and now it even does it in Knoppix. Is there any way to fix this?

Well, this is my first time to ever use Linux other than using Knoppix, just to test it out. So I thought that this mouse thing was a problem, it turns out I had that PC lock that you can get from Thinkgeek, it goes into USB and whenever the transmitter is near it, the little light on it flashes. Turns out everytime it detected the transmitter it would make the mouse jump. Basically problem solved! Except for this whole installing software thing. Still trying to figure that out.
