    Gnome and KDE together ?

    well because of my sound problem i reformatted and i found my problem im so dum i didnt pick desktop enviroment duh. SO thats why i did have the things installed. But now it installed Gnome and well i cant seem to deside on which i liek more so i was wonder if Debian is there a way to have both KDE and Gnome and jsut pick which i want to go into ? when i was using FC3 i was able to pick but im not to sure about Debian.

    Are you getting into your Desktop environment with the 'startx' command? Instead, become root and...

    or
    Code:
    gdm
    If neither are installed I think you can install the one you prefer with apt-get. Either gdm or kdm will give you options to choose different DE's.

    hmm yea it jsut shos up with a log-in screen and that it and then it loads up to the gnome desktop.

    from there you should be able to choose if you want to use gnome or kde

    yea i just signed in haha didnt see that but yea i guess you can then. Man i really messed up the first time i install debian haha.
