    Installing BitTorrent RPM?!

i am running Kubuntu, i've just installed it and updated as well. i've been trying to install the latest version of BitTorrent.noarch.rpm and have been unsuccessful. i've installed RPM since it wasn't already installed but i haven't had luck installing it yet. i'm new to Kubuntu so i might be going about this all wrong.

Here's what the readout is in the console:

root@friendly:/home/jason/Desktop# rpm -i BitTorrent-4.2.2-1-Python2.3.noarch.rpm rpm: To install rpm packages on Debian systems, use alien. See README.Debian. error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - No such file or directory (2) error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm root@friendly:/home/jason/Desktop#

    Here's the url for Alien:

Surely there must be a kubuntu/debian package you can use rather than an rpm?

Thanks, i thought i should use one for Debian but thought figured RPM would work just fine as well. i'm going to have to get used to that now. i've been using FC3 for over a year.

Can't you install Kubuntu's BitTorrent package with "apt-get install bittorrent"?
