    problem writing to disk

Hi. I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here goes. I can't write to any media when I boot from live cd. I've tried on 4 different computers and with 3 linux flavors: knoppix, kanotix, & ubutnu. All are latest versions as of 2 months ago still are I think. 1 is using ntfs & others are using fat32.

    Thnk you so much

    Confused

by default the Live Distros are setup to mount the system drives as READ ONLY to prevent people from accidentally damaging their systems.

In the case of the system with fat32 you can simply unmount the drive and remount it as Read/Write.

I wouldn't recommend mounting NTFS drives as read/write under Linux

    man mount
    man umount
    far...out
