    Lovin the Debian

I can't even begin to express my glee toward aptitude, however...

My only gripe about debian is that during bootup, I see quite a few messages which say "[something] has already been loaded", and for example I get the message "usbcore has already been loaded" at least 5 or 6 times.

Are my init scripts just sloppy? are these redundant messages that my previous distro (slackware) didn't bother telling me? how do I clean up this mess?

by mentioning that you get "usbcore has already been loaded" multiple times tells me that most likely your system has 6 usb jacks
your init script are not sloppy...and the messages are not "redundant" they simply point to a different device that the driver is already loaded

Yes I probably do have 6 usb ports. technically, only 5 are useable, as I have 2 ports and one 4-port hub. so that makse sense.

    thanks
