    Sure, you can install thunderbird from the command line with:
    apt-get install thunderbird
    (you must be root to do this)

    To istall thunderbird
    apt-get install mozilla-thunderbird

    I usually add in enigmail and GNUpg so I can sign and encrypt emails
    apt-get install mozilla-thunderbird mozilla-thunderbird-enigmail gnupg
    far...out

    There is also Evolution and KMail (comes with KDE).

    Evolution integrates very well with GNOME and KMail, like mentioned above, comes withe KDE.

    Sylpheed is also available..but I don't recommend it.

    I've used Sylpheed Claws for quite a while, and I definitley recommend it
    It's faster and lighter than all of the mentioned apps (I use the Gtk2 version).

    Really? I had trouble with it. It would only import my mail that didn't have labels (Gmail).

    I've never used labels in gmail, I don't really need them as I d/l all of my mail. I started using Sylpheed Claws when Thunderbird just got too slow and it's grown on me, mainly because of it's speed (though it still has a ton of features). Did you use sylpheed claws or just sylpheed?
