    trouble with evolution (mail software)

I am unable to use my evolution as a mail server.

Indeed, gave all the required information but if I ask read/send message, the computer tries to connect anfter a a minute or two I have the message "Temporary failure in name resolution.".

the same paramers have been used on thunderbird with success on ms windows.

I think that email is managed in a different way by debian linux and that I have a preliminary configuration stage.

    Can anyone provide hepl. thanks

is your DNS configured correctly on Debian ?

    itg-debian:~# cat /etc/resolv.conf
    nameserver 192.168.0.25
    nameserver 192.168.0.24

This command should return the IP addresses of the DNS server you use for name resolution..

    thanks

As you mentioned, it the dns addresses that were incorrect. I used the gnome admint net tool to correct the information and things were all right!

    Thanks
