wont shutdown
I have p233 pc that also wont shutdown all the way (with slackware10.2 and debian etch apm or acpi) but waits for me to power off. This is because my bios doesn't support shutdown including poweroff. You can check your bios apm or acpi power management setup for an option to allow shutdown including poweroff or maybe there is bios upgrade available.
But if that is your only problem then you are blessed with an otherwise successfull install. For more zip add some more memory. Good luck.
