what's with Diablo 2??
I would like to get Diablo2 and if possible LOD running on Ubuntu. After search after search and seeing everyone had to use a different method (some worked and some didn't). I would like to know if there is a solid set of instructions that will get Diablo2 running. I see wine is fine, others say cedega (which is sad to pay that for 1 game), the CVS version, which I've tried compiling to absolute no avail. The best so far was http://frankscorner.org/index.php?p=diablo2, which I thought worked when I used 'wine /pathtocdrom/install.exe' but once I clicked on Accept (for the license agreement) I would get an error 'unable to load uninstall data. Install aborted'.
anyone, any insight.
Thanks in advance

- 03-17-2006 #2Hi there StuCazz, I changed to Linux yesterday. My only game I play is D2LoD and i got it to now. I'm running Slax(slackware based Linux distro) 1. Install wine 2. Copy the files from the install disk to a folder called install anywhere on the computer 3. Do the same to all disc you are planning to install w/ 4. run "winecfg" and go to the Driver tab, now press add and add the folders "install" "play" "expansion" and "cinematic" if you planning on full install 5. right click on the install.exe in the "install" folder. chose "Wine Windows Emulator" That should do the work (it did for me) why you copy the files to the hd is becouse you cannot eject the CDrom during the install (if you find out a way to do so plz tell me :P
