    booting splash on debian/grub

    Quick question
What is a good boot splash, easy to install (i'm lazy, recompiling the kernel is work enough), that works well with Debian and Grub. I've looked at www.bootsplash.org, and noticed that there are two debian packages available, grub-splashimages and fblogo. Any pointers on which one is best?

I just use splashy. It is stable enough for use, and it very easily changed. No kernel patches or recompilation necessary.

    not a bootsplash

None of them. grub-splash is just a graphics background for Grub
and fblogo is just an utility to convert an image to kernel boot logo
header file (the little Tux you can see in topleft corner while booting),
but none of these is a bootsplash.

If you want to use a bootsplash without recompiling your kernel,
you probably want to check out the gensplash project made by
    Spock.
