A Damn Small Problem
DSL isn't booting - the computer just goes straight through to windows, as if the DSL CD isn't in the drive. Knoppix boots fine - but this computer isn't powerful enough for it.
1.) I know BIOS is set to boot from CD
2.) The computer boots fine, as it booted knoppix
3.) It's DSL 2.1 so it's not extremely outdated
4.) I know the CD is fine because it boots perfectly on my Dell Desktop.
Any ideas as to what could be going wrong?10" Sony Vaio SRX99P 850MHz P3-M 256MB RAM 20GB HD : ArchLinux

Very strange. Don't know what to tell. Maybe try making boot floppies?

Have you tried different media? Like CD-R instead of CDRW,
or standart size media instead of 8cm one? This may (and
probably will) be a hardware or bios problem...

That's what a few people have suggested. But if it were a media problem why would Knoppix work fine but not DSL? They were both burned thru the same program onto similar media [memorex cd-r 700mb]
