    I really hope anyone can help me with the following problem: I have installed Debian Linux on my laptop. Until recently my volume control worked out fine.After upgrading my packages, the volume control does not work anymore...
    What can I do to have my volume control work again?

    I assume U use Sarge3.1.Are U having sound/Audio working/detected in Your LinBOx.if yes try in a terminal as normal user:
    Code:
    sarge:~$ gnome-volume-control
    if it poups and showing audio menus.everythings OK.you need to rightclick on upper taskbar on GNOME and in Add-to-panel menu select volume-control,so Best of LUX.In KDE "kmix" is used as volume control unfortunately I dont(hate) use KDE!.
