    need help with ati driver on ubuntu

    i installed ati driver version 8.22.5 for linux on ubuntu 64 bit edition.
    i have completed the installation and at the end of the installation it want to run /usr/X11R6/bin/aticonfig --initial. but i gt an error msg:
    /usr/X11R6/bin/aticonfig: error while loading shared libraries: libfglrx_pp.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    can u tell wat exactly does it mean? and how to solve it?? n for general info:
    i am installing ubuntu on laptop with amd 64 processor and ati x700 graphic card.. thx

    Since nobody is replying I'll tell what I would do.

    First I would look at ubuntuguide.com and ubuntuforums.org for an answer (ubuntuforums is huge, good place to look!).

    If I could not find it there I would google for "ubuntu packages" to find a website where you can search the contents of the Ubuntu packages and than look for a package that contains the file libfglrx_pp.so.1. Than I would use Synaptic to install that package and try again.
