Errors after kernel compilation
Hi! My system is Kubuntu, currently opereting on 2.6.12.10 kernel. But I needed to recompile it to include some neccessary options. I chose to build 2.6.15.4 kernel. I compiled and installed it. It ran without any errors, showing me the login screen. I loged in, everything seemed to be fine. But, when I try to launch Konsole, it launches only the window, without any text! Instead of showing "experience@xorb:~$" it shows nothing, only blank screen, and I can't type anything. Also another error I heve noticed is that when I try to launch anything with su, after I enter root password, it tells me "program su not found, make sure it is in your PATH".
It is worth mentioning I guess that in normal console (I mean without KDE) everything works. Su works too. Also echo $PATH shows /bin, which means su IS in my PATH.
Anybody has any ideas what the problem might be? Maybe I messed up some parameters in kernel .config? And why do these things not work only in KDE?
Thank you in advance, hope somebody knows the answer...
P.S.: just a thought. Maybe I need to install newer version of KDE?
