Screen Saver Problems
I am using Kubuntu and with KDE. I like to use the screensaver so that I can lock it up while I'm away, but it waits before it locks up. But lately everytime the computer asks for a password, I type it perfectly and it says that the unlocking failed. I know that it works because I just shut down my computer then start it back up... type in the password, and it logs in. Please help, what could be the problem.

I've had that problem with xlock before. If you are using xlock, try using xscreensaver.

Well, that's the thing. I have logged into root several times with GNOME and I have double checked that I am typing the password in... it's just it always says that I'm typing in the wrong password. It confuses me...

Just uninstall xlock with Kubuntu's package management system and install xscreensaver, then run 'xscreensaver' and it will have a gui to setup all the options.

Does xscreensaver have a screensaver that goes through slideshows?
