    gtkpod and iPod

    Hello,

I'm running on Ubuntu, and trying to get my iPod to work. My fstab reads the following:
    /dev/sdb2 /media/ipod vfat users,exec,noauto, 0 0
The iPod mounts just fine. It's just that when I launch gtkPod and try to read in my database, I get the following message:

No MD5 checksums on individual tracks are available.

To avoid this situation in the future either switch on duplicate detection (will provide MD5 checksums) or avoid using the iPod with programs other than gtkpod.

Extended info will not be used.
iPod Database Import Failed: 'Failed to read from file '/media/ipod/iPod_Control/iTunes/iTunesDB': Input/output error'

Has anyone seen this before? I waas thinking maybe it was because of the msuic files on the iPod that were put on in windows with iTunes, but I can't delete them! Read only. And I can't find the option it is talking about to switch on duplicate detection. Can someone help me please? Thanks
