    ethernet not working... internet withdrawl.... ahhhhh!

    I just loaded ubuntu 5.10 on my toshiba satellite laptop and I can't access the internet (firefox/chat) yet I can ping out to google and other sites, it says its activiated set on dhcp and so on... so why's it not working???

    it sounds like the dns server for your isp may be on the blink..... isp's dns servers are notorious for this ...do u have a router? if so try putting that ip in /etc/resolv.conf and see if that helps other than that im as clueless as you are
