Motorola SB5100 USB help..plz, debian
Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 r2 "Sarge" - Official i386 Binary-1
ok its like this i have been getting accustomed to linux debian useing VMware 5.1 although i do have a secondary prepd for install.
the reason i cant complete my transition from WinXP to debian is .I cant find any help relating to my needs.i need to connect to the net using my SB5100 via USB.
any help appreciated

Doesn't the SB5100 have an ethernet connection to?? iirc, i had one of those at uni, just plug the network connection in, and set the network card to use DHCP, and there you have it, broadband works a dream... though you may also need to setup DNS servers manually, but apart from that should work no problems

ok i'll give it a go .
i'm wondering if my SIS onboard ethernet adapter will sufice for this solution ??
maybe its time i got an ethernet card?

That should work no problems... i haven't had a problem with my SiS 900 based car what so ever.
If you have more computers on the network however, you will need another card that u can route the internet connection to the internal network, if it's standalone, this wont be a problem at all though
