    dell dual boot question

Just got married and my wife brought a dell dimension 3000. I am wanting to install debian/windows dual boot. Only thing i'm wondering if i'll have a problem with is when i try to install windows after partition i'll have to use the symantic restore built in on the computer (f11 during boot). Will this try to install over the whole harddrive? or only the ntfs partition? Thanks.

just install windows first and when you partition the drives during the install leave some free space for your linux distribution. Then when you install debian just use the partitioning tool provided by the installer to utilize the free space your allocated during your windows install. My 2 cents its always easier to install windows first the linux.
