Software RAID 1 possible?
Hi, i am reconfiguring my system, and i have a question.
I have 3x250 gb disks and one 120 gb disk.
Now i want 2x250 in Raid 0 (for multimedia, and stuff that i can afford to lose..)
Now comes the funny part
Can i then partition a the last 250 gb disk like this:
hda1: 130 gb / for the system (i know its alot)
hda2: 120 gb for the documents in my home
Now, the last disk, the 120 gb one, i want that in RAID 1 (mirror) with the 120 gb partition (hda2)
Is that possible, i dont care much about performance on that raid, as i just want my files to be safe ?
Also, if one of the disks in the raid 1 crashes (like, the system disk?) how hard is it to
actually rebuild it again ?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards,
Jimmy
